MAY: Experience the Contemporary Evening and Day sale highlights during an exclusive specialist-led tour. It is the first time these premier auction lots will be exhibited in the iconic Breuer building since Sotheby’s landmark move.
MAY: Join us for an evening discussion of our latest book club read, “Empire of the Elite” a book that chronicles the history of the Condé Nast publishing empire, focusing on its cultural dominance from the 1980s through the 2000s. We’ll be pairing our deep dive into their cultural dominance with a live viewing of the Met Gala, martinis in hand.
APRIL: Join us for a tour of Andie Dinkin’s new exhibition at Charles Moffett gallery with a tour given by the gallery’s director. The show gathers together Dinkin’s work across media, including the acrylic and gouache paintings on canvas and paper for which she is best known, largescale drawings, as well as a collection of painted ceramics; a first foray into medium for the artist, created in collaboration with her ceramicist sister.
APRIL: Join us for a visit to Claire Buckley’s studio and participate in a workshop led by the artist.Claire is an artist based in Brooklyn, New York with a focus on painting. Her work currently draws inspiration from grief and aims to connect our world with the spiritual. Her abstract, ethereal and sometimes psychedelic style paintings focus on light and prisms capturing everyday magic. Her work has been featured in galleries, corporations, collaborations and private collections around the world.
APRIL: Join us for an evening of cocktails and conversation in lieu of our book club meeting this month. We will be handing out copies of “Empire of the Elite” which we are meeting to discuss on Monday, May 4th for a joint Met Gala watch party. We encourage you to bring a preloved book to swap with another patron. We’ll also have some fun ice breakers and a round of art trivia to play.
MARCH: Join us for the book club meeting to discuss, The Personal Librarian, which tells of the lifework of Belle da Costa Greene, the personal librarian to J. P. Morgan, as well as the first director of the Morgan Library & Museum. MARCH: Salon 21 is pleased to present “Bloom,” an exhibition that explore uncertainty, personal transformation, and beauty through works that move between the literal and the abstract.
Spanning painting, sculpture, functional objects, and design, the exhibition traces the many ways in which emotion can become a catalyst for growth, another kind of blooming.
FEBRUARY: Join us for the art-focused book club meeting to discuss our latest read. Enjoy a glass of wine as we talk through the characters, the story in relation to the art world, and the ideas that shape the novel.
FEBRUARY: Join us for a guided tour of The Frick Collection highlighting the new exhibition “Gainsborough: The Fashion of Portraiture.” The exhibition explores the relationship between portraiture and fashion in eighteenth-century Britain through the works of Thomas Gainsborough. The show brings together over two dozen portraits from across the U.S. and U.K. and marks the Frick’s first exhibition dedicated to Gainsborough, as well as the first in New York to focus on his portraiture. The visit also offers a chance to experience the newly renovated museum.
FEBRUARY: Join us at Salon 21 to learn about current contemporary art practices focused on sustainability. Current exhibiting artist, Abbey Muza, will discuss her weaving technique, and upcoming exhibiting artist Caroline Zimablist will showcase her non-toxic biomaterial vessels. Special guest, Anne Whiting, is active in the NYC Fair Trade Coalition and Sustainable Fashion Center, and was the 2020 NYC Department of Sanitation ReFashion Week Upcycling Designer of the Year. This is a great chance to see our exhibition, “Woven,” before it ends and speak directly to the artists.
JANUARY: Join Salon 21 and moderator Alex Bass at WSA for the first installment of a new panel series on contemporary art collecting, bringing together emerging and established collectors for an open conversation on how people enter and navigate the art world today.
JANUARY: We’ll be walking through World’s Fastest, exploring Austin Babbitt’s hands-on, analog approach and how his work blurs the line between fashion, graffiti, and fine art.
JANUARY: Join us for the book club meeting to discuss One Woman Show by Christine Coulson . Enjoy a glass of wine as we talk through the characters, the story in relation to the art world, and the ideas that shape the novel.
JANUARY: Join us for a VIP opening of Woven, a group exhibition of female artists working in textile and sculptural practices. The exhibition explores gender, womanhood, and the politics of craft through weaving, embroidery, tapestry, and soft sculpture.
DECEMBER: Join for the closing celebration of “Inner Lives”, our group exhibition of contemporary female painters and designers. The show highlights artists working within a long tradition of women depicting themselves and the world around them.
DECEMBER: Join us for a live artist talk with Lily Lewis moderated by Alex Bass, as Lewis walks us through the works she created for “Inner Lives”. She will share how she builds her emotional worlds on canvas—her palette, her process, and the inner landscapes that shape her figures and interiors. It’s an intimate chance to hear directly from the artist.
DECEMBER: Salon 21 will open its doors December 5th - 6th from 12pm - 6pm each day for exclusive shopping appointments for art and design holiday gifting.
DECEMBER: Join us for the launch of a new ceramic collaboration between Morgane Richer La Flèche and SmallThingsStudio. Morgane’s painterly brushstrokes meet handmade plates and platters in a limited series that feels artful and unexpected. View the collection, meet the artists, and celebrate the release.
DECEMBER: Join us for the book club meeting to discuss Tuesday Nights in 1980. Enjoy a glass of wine as we talk through the characters, their connections to the art world, and the ideas that shape the novel.

NOVEMBER: Join us for Uptown / Downtown at Mary Boone Gallery, honoring the dealer who defined 1980s New York—an era of Basquiat, Schnabel, and Salle. A fitting complement to our book club’s Tuesday Nights in 1980.
NOVEMBER: Join us for The Editor’s Cut: Panel Conversation & Cocktails at WSA, presented by AoD Magazine. Moderated by Bobby Trendz (AoD Magazine), the panel features Alex Bass (Salon 21), Tamon George (Creative Theory Agency), and artist Megan Gabrielle Harris, whose work is included in our current exhibition Inner Lives. Together, they’ll explore creativity, collaboration, and contemporary culture. The evening continues with cocktails, connection, and an after-hours viewing of Inner Lives.
